1 (22) THE PENTAGON HANDICAP
A Handicap for Horses rated 1 TO 26		 1400M

ZandraZANDRA, a declared starter in the above race, was examined by the Veterinary Officer on the evening of 1st August, 2017 and found to be suffering from pyrexia (fever). Under the circumstances the filly was permitted to be withdrawn. Tr. Jasbir Singh was advised not to accept with the filly until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.
Desert CatDESERT CAT, a declared starter in the above race, was examined by the Veterinary Officer at 1.20 P.M. on 2nd August, 2017 and found to be lame on right fore. Under the circumstances the gelding was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. Tr. D M David was advised not to accept with the gelding until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.
StyleSTYLE (Hindu Singh) was fractious while being stalled. Jockey Hindu Singh, the rider of STYLE, reported that his mount was inclined to hang ‘out’ passing the distance post.
HibikiHIBIKI (B Mahesh) was extremely fractious while being stalled. In view of its behaviour Tr. Raunak Banerji was advised not to accept with his charge until shown to the satisfaction of the Starter in a barrier trial during the hours of morning track work.
TibetanSoon after the start TIBETAN (App Sujit Kr Paswan) turned around and took no practical part in the race. The Starting Stall Certificate has been revoked by the Starter.

2 (23) THE GUMAAN HANDICAP (DIV-I)

Land Of GloryOn the morning of Thursday, 3rd August, 2017 b g LAND OF GLORY was examined by the Veterinary Officer and found to be lame on right fore. Tr. D M David was informed not to accept with the gelding until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.
SwarajSWARAJ (T Atul, drawn 6) stumbled soon after the start and some distance later made contact with MIDNIGHT MAGIC (Hindu Singh, drawn 8). The Veterinary Officer reported that SWARAJ returned without its left hind shoe.
ZenaZENA (P Vikram) was slow to begin.
JorellJockey Akash Rajput, the rider of JORELL, was fined a sum of Rs. 5,000/ for not being alert at the start thereby causing his mount to loose approximately 4 – 5 lengths. Further, the Stipendiary Stewards informed Tr. Vikash Jaiswal not to accept with the gelding until shown to the satisfaction of the Starter/Stipendiary Stewards in a barrier trial during the hours of morning track work.

3 (24) THE GUMAAN HANDICAP (DIV-II)

Roman RidgesFor accepting with his charge b g ROMAN RIDGES while under medication, Tr. H S Bath was fined a sum of Rs. 2,000/. Subsequently the gelding was permitted to be withdrawn.
Hondo MontereyThe Veterinary Officer reported that HONDO MONTEREY returned lame on left fore. Tr. Shafiq Khan was informed not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.

4 (25) THE TANGIERS PLATE

ChittagongCHITTAGONG (Dashrath Singh) was resaddled at the start.
CommittedFor failing to produce the registered colours at the Scale in respect of his charge COMMITTED, Tr.Shafiq Khan was fined a sum of Rs. 375/. Subsequently the emergency colours were permitted to be used.
Bambini FestaBAMBINI FESTA (Shezad Khan) jumped out awkwardly from the gates.

5 (26) THE ALICE SPRINGS HANDICAP

WashingtonApproaching the 400 metres WASHINGTON (App R S Bhati) travelling along the rails was tightened for room due to the crowding of the field and brushed against the rails.
MajesticMAJESTIC (Akash Rajput) was slow to begin.

CommanderCOMMANDER (Neeraj Rawal, drawn 5) jumped awkwardly ‘outwards’ from the gates and made contact momentarily with NO MORE POLITICS (Sandeep Rajput, drawn 6).

7 (28) THE TWO IN ONE HANDICAP

RufusRUFUS (Dashrath Singh, drawn 2) and SCARLET EMPEROR (Sandeep Rajput, drawn 3) made contact with each other soon after the start when RUFUS took time to settle down.
