ArffaJockey G S Shekhawat the rider of ARFFA was cautioned for not making any effort to control his mount whereby after jumping out his mount bumped onto MISS FERRARI(Amyn Merchant). Trainer S M Abbas was questioned regarding the inconsistent pattern of running of ARFFA as compared to its last run. Trainer S M Abbas stated that he had instructed the jockey to either lead or position 2nd and do his best on entering the straight while the same instructions were also imparted in its earlier run in race No.98 on 24th November 2017, wherein it had suffered an interference soon after jump, hence the jockey could not follow the instructions inspite of best efforts and the pace of the race was also quite fast. In the above race it was drawn (1) and after jumping out it led the field and won comfortably and just fancied it to run a better race. His explanations were noted.
Miss FerrariPrior to ‘ALL CLEAR’ being declared Jockey Amyn Merchant the rider of MISS FERRARI requested to view the race video with a view to consider lodging an objection. After viewing the video Jockey Amyn Merchant decided to proceed with an objection and accordingly an objection was lodged by Jockey Amyn Merchant the rider of MISS FERRARI placed second by the Judge against Jockey G S Shekhawat the rider of ARFFA placed first by the Judge for “ coming out sharply onto me soon after the jump, giving me a bump and crossed me due to which I lost my position and had to check my mount and that cost me a certain race and I could not ride out properly.” The Stewards held an enquiry immediately after the race interviewed the Jockeys concerned and after deliberations, considering the opinion expressed by the Stipendiary Steward and based on the observation of the race the Stewards were not satisfied that an alteration to the placings could not be justified.
