Subsequently the emergency colour “ALL BLACK” was permitted to be used. Approaching the 800 metres CELTIC COMMANDER (Rajinder Singh) and CHINAMAN (App Ranidan Singh) made contact with each other.
ChinamanApproaching the distance post CHINAMAN (App Ranidan Singh) shifted ‘inwards’ causing inconvenience to MODIFICATION (A Ashhad Asbar) which was carried inwards’ onto MCCARTNEY (App Dheeraj Singh). At a subsequent enquiry the concerned Jockeys were interviewed and App Ranidan Singh was fined a sum of Rs. 2,500/ for failing to keep his mount on a straight path.

True Geniusb c TRUE GENIUS, an acceptor in the above race, was examined by the Veterinary Officer on the morning of Wednesday, 23rd November, 2016 and found to be lame on left fore. Under the circumstances the colt was permitted to be withdrawn. Tr. R W Alford was informed not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.
Surgical StrikeSURGICAL STRIKE (P Trevor) having its maiden outing refused to raise a fluent gallop in the initial 300 metres of the race and consequently completed the course detached from the field. Tr. Vijay Singh was advised to school his charge appropriately before accepting with it again.

3 (35) THE WISEMAN HANDICAP

Queen's CommandQUEEN’S COMMAND (Anil Baandal) and ROMANTIC SOCIETY (C Alford) made contact with each other during the final stages of the race.
KanhaKANHA (Md Islam) was slow to begin losing approximately three lengths at the start.
CendrillonCENDRILLON (Akshay) which was fractious while being stalled was slow to begin.
BalvenieJockey Mudassar Nazar, the rider of b f BALVENIE, when afforded an opportunity to explain the running of his mount stated that in spite of his urgings from the 600 metres the filly gradually lost its forward position and finished off the race last. He further stated that the filly gave no indication of any ailment. On questioning Tr. J E Mckeown stated that he was surprised his charge was running as a favourite in the race as it had not run for a long period of time. The trainer was advised to get his charge examined by the Veterinary Officer and report ailment, if any.

4 (36) THE ARABIAN PRINCE HANDICAP

Red BugRED BUG (App N B Kuldeep) was extremely fractious while being stalled. In view of its behaviour Tr. Shyam Habbu, deputizing for Tr. Vinay Lagad was advised not to accept with his charge until shown to the satisfaction of the Starter in a barrier trial during the hours of morning track work. The Veterinary Officer reported that RED BUG returned with a cut injury on left hind.
Secret BuilderSECRET BUILDER (Vinay Jaiswal) drifted to the outer portion of the race track approaching the distance post.
Spyglass HillSPYGLASS HILL (P Trevor) was extremely fractious while being stalled. In view of its behaviour Tr. Bharath Singh was advised not to accept with his charge until shown to the satisfaction of the Starter in a barrier trial during the hours of morning track work.
QuatroQUATRO (App S Jaykumar) and XIMORE (Nirmal Jodha) were slow to begin.

5 (37) THE BENGAL AREA CUP

Magic In The AirWhen queried into his riding of b g MAGIC IN THE AIR, App Jorawar Singh stated that he was instructed to be alert at the start and on entering the straight to make his challenge on the outside. On further questioning as to why he appeared not to be vigorous enough in his efforts, the apprentice stated that as the gelding was travelling well with hands and heels he did not want to disturb it by using the whip. The Stipendiary Stewards while noting his explanations, advised the apprentice to ride his mount in such manner that leaves no room for query.
Cool RunningsCOOL RUNNINGS (Shezad Khan) which arrived late to the start was fractious in its stall.
