1	(208)	THE CHEVIOT HANDICAP A Handicap for Horses rated 1 TO 26	1400M
			1:30 PM

Desert Cat	DESERT CAT (C Alford) which was fractious in its stall stumbled soon after jumping out from the gates.
Romancer	ROMANCER (App Nikhil Naidu), ZURVAN (Pintu Das) and SWEET SUSPENSE (App Rupal Singh) were slow to begin.
Sam Houston	SAM HOUSTON (Dashrath Singh) was fractious while being stalled.
Fly Fly	For failing to produce the registered colours at the Scale in respect of his charge FLY FLY, Trainer Mr. D M David was fined a sum of Rs. 375/. Subsequently the emergency colours were permitted to be used.
Zurvan	ZURVAN (Pintu Das) ran detached from the field. Tr. Jasbir Singh was advised not to accept with the gelding until it was capable of a better performance.

Glorious Run	When afforded an opportunity to explain the improved performance of his charge GLORIOUS RUN as compared to its previous outing in Race No. 188 run on 15th March, 2017 Tr. H S Bath stated that : a) Though finishing 11th in its previous run the verdict between the horses was not far between. b) The gelding has always performed well over the shorter sprints i.e., between the 1100 & 1200 metres as against Race No. 188 run over 1400 metres. c) The stable was happily surprised with the win.
Lucky Streak	The Veterinary Officer reported that LUCKY STREAK, returned without its left fore shoe.
Studiofiftyfour	Jockey Akash Rajput, the rider of STUDIOFIFTYFOUR, reported that in spite of his best efforts the gelding was inclined to lean ‘in’ during the middle stages of the race.
Significant	SIGNIFICANT (App Sujit Kr. Paswan) jumped awkwardly from the gates.
Quatro	QUATRO (App Hasib Alam) was slow to begin.

Silken Grace	SILKEN GRACE (App R S Bhati) and INDUS PRINCE (Nelson Maseyk) were slow to begin.
Azzraq	AZZRAQ (App P Vikram) planted losing considerable ground at the start and took no practical part in the race. The Starting Stall Certificate has been revoked by the Starter.

Flight Of Phoenix

b g FLIGHT OF PHOENIX was examined by the Veterinary Officer behind the starting gates and was found to be lame on right fore. Under the circumstances the gelding was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds. Tr. Narendra Lagad was informed not to accept with the gelding until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.

Tibidabo

Jockey Nelson Maseyk, the rider of TIBIDABO, was fined a sum of Rs. 1,000/ for presenting himself to the parade ring without his body protector. An enquiry was held immediately after the running of this race into the running and riding of b g TIBIDABO, ridden by Jockey Nelson Maseyk and trained by Mr. Vikash Jaiswal. The matter was referred to the Stewards who met after the last race wherein Trainer Mr. Vikash Jaiswal was charged for violating Rule 159(a) i.e., every horse shall be run on its merits whether his owner runs another horse in the race or not and Jockey Mr. Nelson Maseyk was charged for violating Rule 159(b) i.e., the rider of every horse shall take all reasonable and permissible measures throughout the race to ensure that his horse is given full opportunity to win or to obtain the best possible place in the field, in that during the final 400 metres of the race when in clear running the jockey had failed to ride his mount to complete advantage. The Stewards after due deliberations found Jockey Nelson Maseyk guilty of preventing b g TIBIDABO from running on its merits and after taking into account the Jockey’s records decided to declare Jockey Nelson Maseyk as a ‘disqualified person’ with effect from 1st July, 2017 to 31st October, 2017 under Rule 202(xiii) of the RCTC Rules of Racing. Mr. Nelson Maseyk was informed of his right to appeal.

Jacknife

When afforded an opportunity to explain the improved performance of his charge b g JACKNIFE as compared to its previous outing in Race No. 197 run on 18th March, 2017 Tr. Vikash Jaiswal stated that : a) In its previous run over a distance of 1200 metres the gelding was well positioned with the front runners and maintained that position till passing the distance post. b) The gelding is more suitable for races run over a distance of 1100 metres as its record clearly indicates. c) When comparing the performance of JACKNIFE with b m SHIVALIK STORY, a common horse in both the races, the verdict between the two in this race is well within the ambit of the handicap.

SIMRAN’S CHOICE (Vinay Jaiswal) and TANGALOOMAA (App Jorawar Singh) were slow to begin.

Interstellar	INTERSTELLAR (Hindu Singh) brushed against the inner rails due to the crowding of the field approaching the 700 metres.
Copernicus	COPERNICUS (B Mahesh) was slow to begin.
Staristocrat	At the request of Tr. Shyam Habbu, deputizing for Tr. M Narredu, b g STARISTOCRAT was scoped after the races and found to have bled throughout the length of the trachea. Tr. M Narredu was advised not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.

			5:00 PM

Mustang	The Veterinary Officer reported that MUSTANG (Neeraj Rawal) returned with a cut injury on left hind.
Running Hand	RUNNING HAND (Hindu Singh) and BIZARRO (Arman Khan) were slow to begin. Approaching the distance RUNNING HAND (Hindu Singh) clipped the heels of MUSTANG (Neeraj Rawal) and stumbled. At a subsequent enquiry Jockey Neeraj Rawal was shown the CCTV replay of the race and fined a sum of Rs. 2,500/ for failing to maintain a straight course.
