Double Chatter readily obliges in feature

Donald Netto trained Double Chatter readily obliged in the 1200 metres C Satyanarayana Memorial Cup (Div I), a race for horses rated 46 to 70, the feature event of Sunday`s races held at Malakpet. Visiting jockey Bouzelin Louis took Double Chatter on a start to finish mission and faced no threat from any of the contestants and justified the favouritism with a measure of comfort.

Double Chatter had the credentials to win the race and was accordingly given the status of being a favourite. The possible threat for her supremacy was expected to come from Mighty Swing who despite a valiant effort was not up to it. Double Chatter enjoyed an uncontested lead in front with Advocate General in chase followed by Might Swing and the rest. Double Chatter was under no pressure in front with the only change in the final furlong coming from Mighty Swing who moved up strongly ahead of Advocate General to take the second place. The latter looks ready for a big show next time out. Mangipalli Satyanarayana trained City of Wonders who is in tremendous form, had no problem in winning the lower division of the race. Srinath brought City of Wonders into strong contention in the homestretch after biding his time. City of Wonders smoothly accelerated and left the field standing in the final furlong to win the race as he pleased from Legend and Princess Hina.

Vittal Deshmukh trained Found Money continued to accumulate a bagful of wins when she readily won the Lingapur Cup, a race for horses rated 66 to 90. Found Money surged past the front-running Flower Roll Up inside the final two furlongs and stretched out well to win the race with great ease from late rallying Blue Eyed Babe. Flower Roll Up stayed on to take the third place.

Deshmukh had a double through Mr Baahubali who toyed with the opposition to record an encore in the 1400 metres Bakranangal Plate, a race for horses rated 46 to 70. Srinath who is riding with renewed vigour and getting a bagful of winners in the process, had Mr Baahubali track Mirfield into the straight before going ahead on the bridle to eventually win without having to be fully extended from Magna Carta who held off Sea Caste for the runner-up berth.

Hilton Sequeira`s Mahathi who had found the winning post elusive on so many occasions, finally made it in the1400 metres Golden Pate, a race for horses rated 26 to 50. Apprentice jockey Kaushik was persevering on the favourite who had to be goaded to stay in place in the early part of the race. Kaushik never gave up on Mahathi and the favourite waged a strong battle with Ashwa Ashoka before heading the latter at the post to finally break the jinx after a frustrating wait. Valee Tiger was faraway third.

Visiting jockey Bouzelin Louis who had a stint as a retainer for Dr Vijay Mallya`s horses several years ago, had a winner in his first ride this visit when he guided Netto`s Far Sight to victory in the1100 metres Cabaret Plate, a race for maiden two-year-olds. Proud Warrior led the charge but with a furlong left in the race, Far Sight produced a big run along the rails to go sailing clear. Far Sight ran on well from behind to take the second place ahead of Proud Warrior.

In a race, which suggested three possible winners in the final moments of the race, it was Anant Vatsalya trained Proud Image who snatched victory from Garib Parwar and Fair And Square in the 1200 metres Original Vel V Balasubramani Memorial Cup (Div II), a race for horses rated 26 to 50. Fair And Square moved with a flourish in the final furlong and looked the likely winner but apprentice jockey Boppanna was not able to add that bit extra and the fancied runner lost in a close finish. The vigorously ridden Proud Image prevailed in the end in a three-horse finish with Garib Parwar finishing second best.

From sixth position at the final bend, Faisal Hassan trained Canberra produced a powerful burst of speed in the final furlong to cover the front-runners with minimum of fuss and stormed away to record a facile win in the 1400 metres Trade Fair Plate, a race for horses rated 26to 50 Vijay Vidyut who was in contention had to settle for the second position but he could not cope with the speed unleashed by the winner.

Laxman Singh trained Veronese produced a tremendous effort from way off the pace to overhaul the long-time leader and favourite Doroteo and win the1800 metres Himayat Sagar Cup, a race for horses rated 26 to 60. Doroteo who went on a start to finish mission looked to be on course till Veronese warmed up to the task and produced a smashing performance.
