Jockeys Keith Yeung Ming-lun and DerekLeung Ka-chun each have a couple of promising rides in the 11-card program slated for Sunday May 5th at Sha Tin.
Keith Yeung Ming-lun, who has ridden 15 winners this season, can win on Beauty Day and Simple Elegant and has a competitive chance on Not Usual Talent. He last rode a double on November 4th, 2018 on Diamond Master and Perfect Match.

Derek Leung Ka-chun, who has ridden 18 winners this season, rides Destin and Happy Time as his best two and also can also finish close onJudy's Star and Dashing Dart. He had last ridden a double more than a year ago (astride Lucky Volatility and PingwuSpark on January 21st, 2018.

The following three races seem the most appealing from a betting perspective.

First Race - # 8) Winning Method had finished two length behind Aethero in the first Griffin Race of the season. This well-bred Holy Roman Emperor colt who is a 2-year-old had finished more than 6 lengths ahead of the rest of the field in a smart time. We evaluated this performance to be at a Class 4 level. He seems to have come along since his last start three weeks ago as evidenced by his 800-metre gallop in 44.9 seconds on Thursday. An interesting runner in this race is Gala Night. There was some talk in the media that Gala Night's trainer (John Moore) believed Gala Night to be better than Aethero (before their last race). Winning Method should be able to beat Judy's Star, a debutant who has had three Barrier Trials and Gala Night in the opening race of the day.

Fifth Race - # 12) Beauty Day finished closebehind Everlaugh and Southern Superstar when he made a re-appearance in Sha Tin after more than 4 months. The three Privately Purchased (PP) horses (Surrealism, Cruciatus, and Exaltation), who are racing for the first time in Hong Kong in this race, all have overseas form, but have not impressed in their Hong Kong Barrier Trials so far. Beauty Day is an 11-start maiden, but has placed five times. He will relish the 1400-meter trip with the light weight and should be able to get the better of Young Legend and Comfort Life.

Eighth Race - # 13) Happy Time clocked 55.16 second over the straight Sha Tin 1000-metres when he finished second to the promising Voyage Warrior which earned Happy Time a high speed rating. This time is just 0.46 outside Sacred Kingdom's track record from March 31, 2007 and indicates that Happy Time is ready to score his first victory in Hong Kong. He should be able to beat the consistent Goko and Mr. Lumieres. The top-weightedHello Beauty, who had nearly unseated his rider (Zac Purton) in his first start which was in October last year, has been given plenty of work and will be one to watch with interest.

Here are the selections for the card.
