Shining Ace and Money Marshal shape as bets at Sha Tin

Sunday's card will see promising undefeated youngsters Aethero and Voyage Warrior back at Sha Tin. Both these horses should win their races quite easily but will both be at cramped odds. Aethero could be combined with Judy's Star in a Quinella, but that too will be at very short odds. Voyage Warrior could be combined with California Gungho for a Quinella.

Our correspondent looks at Shining Ace and Money Marshal as betting propositions on Sunday’s Sha Tin card.

Second Race - # 10) Shining Ace ran his best race over today’s course and distance two starts ago when finishing a length and a half second behind the impressive Golden Sixty. In that race, jockey Joao Moreira had pushed Shining Ace to hit the front from barrier 10. On Sunday, Shining Ace will find it easier to be in the front bunch or to even lead from barrier 5. An interesting runner in this race is Chicken Dance who had finished on from way back in the field in his debut run when he ran second behind Mr Croissant. Chicken Dance was withdrawn from his last intended start on the 7th of April as he had fever three days prior to that day. He seems to have be in fine fettle as evidenced by his Barrier Trial a couple of weeks ago. Chicken Dance is trained by Kiwi Paul O’Sullivan whose stats for second time runners show a higher number of winners.

Third Race - # 12) Money Marshal is a thirteen-start maiden who ran his best race ever when finishing half a length second to Doctors Delight. In that run, Money Marshal was hanging in badly and was not able to be tested fully. We expect him to run an in improved race and win this Class 5 race from Sure Win, Lesiured Feet, and Good Runners Way. Money Marshal had shaped as the winner with 200 meters to go in his last start effort overt the mile. He may even run an improved race over 1400 meters.

Here are the selections for the card

These selections are based on the Race Card available at the time of writing and do not factor in any standby horses that are promoted. While considering the tips above, please pay attention to the names of the horses – the number of a horse that is withdrawn will be assigned to the promoted standby horse.
