Reason takes back seat, races cancelled File Photo
The Bangalore Summer Season ended in a bizarre fashion, with 14 races scheduled for the concluding day’s races were cancelled following the refusal of Karnataka Racehorse Owners Association and the Karnataka Trainers Association to allow racing to take place. A total of Rs 1.5 crores was thus lost to owners due to their self defeating approach.

Protest halts racing after eighth race
Thursday’s racing programme was truncated as protest by Karnataka Race Horse Owners Association who stormed the paddock demanding extension of the summer season resulted in postponement of last three races of the day to Friday. The last day’s racing will thus have now have 14 races if everything falls in place and nothing untoward happens on the morrow. Trainer Arjun Mangalorkar had a rewarding day with three winners to his credit.

Kyles of Bute swamps opposition on day of upsets
Arjun Mangalorkar trained Kyles of Bute brought off a big upset when swamping the opposition in the Gr 3 Bangalore City Gold Cup, the feature event of Sunday’s races. The day’s races did not run kindly for punters as just one well backed favourite obliged in the card of eight events. Arjun saddled a treble through Kyles of Bute, Emerald and Sky Diver.
