Amadeuswhich have run at Kolkata having completed the course since Wednesday, 30th October, 2024 and have not won a race at any centre since that date – (About) 1200 Metres (2.30/2.30) : 7 runners AMADEUS and MOGAMBO were slow to begin. AMADEUS broke down passing the 600 metres and was eased up by its rider. On examination the gelding was found to have fractured its left fore fetlock joint and was euthanized on the morning of 5th April, 2025 on humanitarian grounds.

Smash ShotSMASH SHOT, an acceptor in the above race, collapsed and died during the morning track work on 1st April, 2024, as such the name of the gelding was withdrawn from the race.
GimmlerJockey Imran Chisty (GIMMLER) reported that his mount was hanging out from about the bend and when asked for a final effort the horse had nothing much to offer, was noted. The Veterinary Officer was requested to examine IVANHOE and GIMMLER and submit his reports. On examination both the horses were found to be trotting sound.

LahinaLAHINA which was very difficult to load, missed the jump. Tr. Sabeel Shariff was advised to give his charge adequate gate practice before accepting with it again.
YuviOn the morning of 5th April, 2025 YUVI was examined by the Veterinary Officer and found to be lame on left hind. Tr. Vikash Jaiswal was advised not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.
IngridINGRID was difficult to load.
Phenomenal LadyPHENOMENAL LADY dropped out from about 200 metres, eased up by its rider and finished the race detached. The Veterinary Officer was requested to examine the filly and submit his report. On examination the filly was found to be trotting sound.

4 (183) THE ROYAL MANTLE HANDICAP

Three Little WordsAt about 1000 metres CRISTALDO stumbled after being squeezed for space between HAPPY MORNING and THREE LITTLE WORDS.
CristaldoCRISTALDO ran in emergency colours “All Black” as the trainer failed to produce the registered colours for the gelding. Tr. B Mahesh was charged a sum of Rs. 500/ for the same and fined a sum of Rs. 1,000/ for the lapse. At about 1000 metres CRISTALDO stumbled after being squeezed for space between HAPPY MORNING and THREE LITTLE WORDS.
EmbankmentEMBANKMENT jumped out awkwardly.
Happy MorningJockey Vinay Jaiswal (HAPPY MORNING) reported that he lost his right stirrup iron at about the 600 metres and he could not ride out his mount to complete advantage, was noted. At about 1000 metres CRISTALDO stumbled after being squeezed for space between HAPPY MORNING and THREE LITTLE WORDS.

5 (185) THE ANGELES HANDICAP
