ErosEROS (Nitin Singh) was slow to begin. The Veterinary Officer reported that b g EROS returned lame on left fore. Tr. Rodrigues Jr was informed not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.
Riverdown EmpressJockey A Sandesh, the rider of RIVERDOWN EMPRESS, reported that his saddle shifted forward soon after the start, as such, he was unable to exercise adequate control over his mount which resulted in the filly taking an unduly long lead in the early and middle stages of the race. Tr. Bharath Singh was fined a sum of Rs. 500/ for faulty saddling.

SkywayTrainer Mr. Shafiq Khan when afforded an opportunity to explain the improved performance of his charge ch m SKYWAY (B Srinivas Rao) as compared to its previous run in Race No. 63 held on 7th December, 2013 stated that “in the previous race the mare was very much fancied by the stable when running over a distance of 1600 metres and ridden by an apprentice jockey but the mare did not perform well. Whereas on this occasion even though the mare was not fancied by the stable he was pleasantly surprised with its victory” Other than these he could give no other plausible explanation for the improved performance of his charge. The Stipendiary Stewards noted his explanations and took no further action.
RithambhraFor failing to produce the registered colours at the scale in respect of his charge RITHAMBHRA, Tr. Sabeel Shariff was fined a sum of Rs. 325/. Subsequently the emergency colour ‘ALL BLACK’ was permitted to be used. SCHWARZENEGGER (Md Islam) was slow to begin.
Alacrity (O)Jockey Sandeep Rajput, the rider of ALACRITY, was fined a sum of Rs. 5000/ for the indifferent handling of his mount throughout the race. He was further informed that should he perform in a similar manner again, he would be dealt with appropriately.
Scooby DoThe Veterinary Officer reported that SCOOBY DO returned bleeding from both nostrils. Tr. Bharath Singh was informed not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.

4 (78) THE MADRAS RACE CLUB CUP

5 (79) THE CALCUTTA JUVENILE STAKES

Treasure IslandTREASURE ISLAND (Kishore Kadam) and WELL DONE (Shezad Khan) were fractious in their respective stalls.
EveshamEVESHAM (C Alford) was fractious while being stalled. Immediately after the running of the race an enquiry was held with particular reference into the incident of b c EVESHAM (C Alford) running wide around the bend and thereafter being brought to a stop by its rider before passing the winning post. At the conclusion of the enquiry it was established that the ‘bit’ had run through the mouth of the colt approaching the 600 metres when the rider was making every effort to control the animal which was running erratically and thereafter the rider brought the colt to a halt as he had no control over his mount. The Stipendiary Stewards ordered the “All Clear” signal to be hoisted. Mr. Vijay Singh, the trainer of the colt, was fined a sum of Rs. 5,000/ for presenting his charge to race when not adequately schooled thereby putting at risk the safety of the jockeys and the welfare of the horses participating in the race. He was further informed not to accept with his charge until shown to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in a mock race.

6 (80) THE NANOLI STUD CALCUTTA GOLD CUP (GR.2)
TERMS - 3 YEARS OLD & UPWARD

SnowdriftSNOWDRIFT (Neeraj Rawal) was fractious while being stalled. SNOWDRIFT (Neeraj Rawal) and OCEAN AND BEYOND (B Mahesh) under pressure rolled on to each other in the concluding stages of the race.
Gentle KnowledgeJockey A Ashhad Asbar, the rider of GENTLE KNOWLEDGE, had to take evasive action when OCEAN AND BEYOND (B Mahesh) shifted ‘inwards’ approaching the 300 metres. At a subsequent enquiry Jockey B Mahesh was fined a sum of Rs. 2,500/ for shifting ground when not adequately clear of the other runner. Further, Jockey B Mahesh was fined a sum of Rs. 3,000/ for the excessive use of the whip (2nd offence).
BerlusconiBERLUSCONI (A M Tograllu) and BORSALINO (R Marshall) were slow to begin.

7 (81) THE OBLIGADO HANDICAP
