| | Trainer Mr. Rakesh and Jockey C Umesh were questioned by the Stipendiary Stewards regarding the poor performance of b g VACHAN, which finished third in the above Race as compared to its previous run in Race No. 14, i.e., The Star of Mysore Trophy – (About) 1400 Metres, for horses reted 60 and above, run on 2nd Day, Wednesday, 3rd November, 2021, when ridden by the same Jockey, it won the Race. The Trainer stated as follows; a) His charge had won its previous race, which was run over 7 furlongs, very impressively; b) The ideal distance for his charge is over 7 furlongs and as his charge does not show any initial speed and as this race was run over 6 furlongs, he had instructed his rider to sit in 3rd or 4th or the best forward position, and to ride it out in the Straight; c) His charge had run in all posssibe distances and had won over 6 furlongs before; d) This horse was supposed to run in Chennai but as the races at Chennai got cancelled and as there were no 7 furlong races for horses rated 75 and above, he had chosen to race it in the above Race; e) He had expected his charge to run well as he fancied its chances, but his horse did not get up in the Straight and was running there and there only, to finish third; While corroborating with the statement of Trainer, Mr. Rakesh, Jockey C Umesh added that he had ridden his mount as instructed and had grabbed the best possible forward position, but in the straight, despite his best efforts, his mount did not quicken at all. While noting their explanations, Trainer Mr. Rakesh was informed to be more judicious while chosing the race, with particular reference to the distance, to be run by his charge, in future. |

The Trainer stated as follows; a) His charge is an 8 year old horse, which does not have initial speed at all; b) He had instructed his rider to take a good jump and to sit wherever he was comfortable and after coming into the Straight, to ride it out; c) But his charge did not show any initial speed at all and picked up only after entering the Straight and thereafter, went on to finish 3rd. Jockey Nazar Alam corroborated the statement of Trainer Mr. C D Monnappa. Not being satisfied with the explanations tendered by Jockey Nazar Alam, the Stipendiary Stewards fined him Rs.3,000/ for not making sufficient efforts to improve his position throughout the Race. He was cautioned in the presence of Trainer Mr. C D Monnappa that a similar manner of riding would entail him being reported to the Stewards for appropriate action. The Stipendiary Stewards, while noting the explanations of Trainer Mr. C D Monnappa, cautioned him to be more judicious in the running of his charges, in future. |

Jockey Chotu Jaiswar was questioned in the presence of Trainer Mr. Ranjeet Shinde, by the Stipendiary Stewards, as to his riding on his mount PETER RABBIT, in the above Race. Jockey Chotu Jaiswar stated that his mount was not galloping fluently throughout the Race and despite his efforts to keep it on and even course, his mount travelled wide throughout the bend and after entering the Straight, his mount was running here and there. He had come and reported the same to his Trainer. While corroborating with the statement of Jockey Chotu Jaiswar, Trainer Mr. Ranjeet Shinde added that his charge was an unsound horse and had suffered a lot of training set backs. This horse had run 2 times with him and in its previous run he had instructed his rider not to punish him too much. While noting their explanations, Jockey Chotu Jaiswar was informed by the Stipendiary Stewards that he was being given the benefit of a grave doubt as his mount had suffered from EIPH and that a similar manner of riding in future would entail him being reported to the Stewards for appropriate action. |
