Racing Pulse Poll
Do you agree that Turf Authorities of India must step up their marketing game to attract a younger crowd. Right now, the sport is mostly backed by an ageing audience, which isn’t sustainable long-term?

Imperia rules in the Governor`s Cup
Imperia rules in the Governor`s Cup Trainer Anant Vatsalya has a knack for squeezing results out of a limited string, and on Sunday he showed once again that smart placement can sometimes do the job of a big string. His star pupil Imperia proved her consistency wasn’t just statistical trivia, but the real deal. Stepping up in the 1200 metres Governor’s Cup, a race for horses rated 80 and above, the feature event of Sunday’s Hyderabad races, Imperia weathered some mid-race turbulence and then stormed clear for her seventh win from just 15 starts.

Chagall Returns from Break in Winning Style
Sunday’s card behaved as if scripted by the punters’ union: favourites mostly obliged, but not without making them sweat. At least the contests were close, a welcome relief from the dreary one-horse parades that have crept in lately. Pesi Shroff trained Chagall brought off a fine in the Dr S R Captain Salver, the feature event of Sunday’s races. Pesi Shroff had a double for the day as his other ward Superstar pulled off a narrow win.

Online Gaming Bill will impact horse racing
The Lok Sabha’s passage of the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, 2025 has been hailed by the government as a strike against addiction, crime, and financial ruin. But for horse racing, already a sport on life support, the move could well be the coup de grâce. Unless reason prevails and the distinction between skill-based sport and gambling is restored in law and taxation, Indian horse racing will collapse into irrelevance—a victim not of dwindling interest, but of policy indifference.
