Winning Attitude gets the momentum right
Winning Attitude gets the momentum right Fresh off his victory lap aboard Psychic Star in the Indian 1000 Guineas at Mumbai, jockey Vivek G swaggered into Monday’s card like a man on a mission. Vivek piloted Winning Attitude to a confident, almost nonchalant victory in the 1400 metres Wanaparthy Cup, a race for horses rated 40 to 65, the main event on a card generously catering to the unsung heroes of the lower divisions. Not stopping at one, Vivek rode home a hat-trick for trainer Leo D’Silva. Donald Netto and jockey Santosh Raj had a double each for the day.

Psychic Star shines in Pesi’s Guineas domination
Trainer Pesi Shroff’s stranglehold on the Gr 1 Indian 1000 Guineas is so absolute, one might as well start calling it the Pesi Shroff Invitational. It’s become a recurring theme—like an annual holiday no one else gets to celebrate. Sure, the man’s yard boasts some of the finest-bred horses in the country, cherry-picked from India’s top nurseries, but let’s give credit where it’s due: turning blue-blooded racehorses into untouchable champions is no walk in the paddock. Shroff clearly has the formula—part science, part sorcery.

Chaos reigns at BTC EGM as key proposals collapse
The Bangalore Turf Club’s general body meeting on Thursday was extraordinary for all the wrong reasons. The agenda, which included weighty matters like the Karnataka Government’s proposal to relocate the racecourse to Kunigal, increasing membership drastically by charging a cool Rs 25 lakh entrance fee for new members, introducing a new “corporate” member and hiking the annual subscription from the present measly Rs 250 to Rs 30,000, ended in a spectacular debacle. Not a single resolution made it past the starting gate.
