1 (13) THE FREE ENERGY HANDICAP

 As Jockey Akshay Kumar was unable to fulfil his riding engagement in this race due to delay in his flight schedule, Tr. Aashay Doctor was permitted to substitute Jockey Yash Narredu to ride his charge THALAMES.

 REAGAN missed the jump.
Ticker
 Jockey Rupal Singh, the rider of TICKER, was reprimanded for “swinging” wide while negotiating the bend for no apparent reason and advised to exercise better control over his mounts in future.
Chetak
 CHETAK which was difficult to load, finished the race detached from the field. Tr. Rutherford Alford was advised not to accept with his charge until it was capable of a better performance. The Veterinary Officer was requested to examine CHETAK and report ailment, if any. Post race endoscopy on 11th October, 2023 revealed that the gelding was suffering from respiratory infection Grade 3.
Shai
 SHAI was extremely fractious and refused to be stalled in spite of repeated attempts thereby delaying the proceedings of the race. Under the circumstances the gelding was withdrawn before coming under Starter’s orders. The Starting Stall Certificate has been revoked. The Veterinary Officer reported that SHAI returned with a cut injury on right hind fetlock.

2 (14) THE ANDRADA HANDICAP
A Handicap for Horses rated 61 TO 86

 The Veterinary Officer reported that FOREVER TOGETHER returned lame on left hind. Tr. Rajesh Narredu was also advised not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.
Basharat
 BASHARAT was slow to begin losing about 4 to 5 lengths. Tr. Shyam S Habbu was advised to give his charge adequate gate practice before accepting with it again.
Morning Star
 MORNING STAR was eased up by its rider rounding the final bend. On veterinary examination the gelding was found to be lame on right fore. Tr. Vikash Jaiswal was advised not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.

3 (15) THE BOUNTIFUL TALENT HANDICAP

 RODRIGO shifted out rounding the final bend inconveniencing JEAN LAFETTE and HORUS THE GREAT making their move on the outside. Jockey Rupal Singh was once again advised to exercise greater control over his mounts in future to avoid disciplinary action.

 DANCE ALONG was difficult to load. The Veterinary Officer reported that DANCE ALONG returned with a cut injury on right fore fetlock.
Long Lease
 On the morning of 12th October, 2023 LONG LEASE was examined by the Veterinary Officer and found to be lame on right fore. Tr. Rajesh Narredu was informed not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.

5 (17) THE CALCUTTA COLTS TRIAL STAKES
TERMS - 3 years old only

 CLIFFORD (drawn 2) and LA DOMINATE (drawn 4) bumped into POWER RACER (drawn 3) soon after jump out.
Hornbill
 HORNBILL and TORINO were difficult to load. Jockey Yash Narredu, the rider of HORNBILL reported that his mount was running green when put under pressure from the top of the straight, more so under the use of the whip even though he changed his whip hand to correct his mount’s drift. He further added that his mount bumped into LA DOMINATE a few metres before the winning post under pressure. While accepting his explanation the rider was cautioned to be more careful in such instances in future.
La Dominate
 LA DOMINATE was extremely difficult to load. Tr. Aashay Doctor was advised to give his charge adequate gate practice before accepting with it again. CLIFFORD (drawn 2) and LA DOMINATE (drawn 4) bumped into POWER RACER (drawn 3) soon after jump out. Aashay Doctor when questioned regarding the running of his charge DELPHINI stated that he had instructed the rider to place his mount in 3rd or 4th position as he expected GOLDEN OAKS and MONFORTINO to cut the pace upfront and to do his best in the straight. He further stated that other than for the Jockey coming wide round the bend to make his final move, he had no cause to complain against the Jockey. Jockey Akshay Kumar corroborated the instructions and stated that his mount drifted out in the straight even though he was using the whip in the left hand, she came up with a run passing the distance post but could do no better, was noted.
Golden Oaks
 Jockey Sujit Kr Paswan, the rider of GOLDEN OAKS, was fined a sum of Rs. 3,000/ for excessive use of whip (1st infringement). Tr. Aashay Doctor when questioned regarding the running of his charge DELPHINI stated that he had instructed the rider to place his mount in 3rd or 4th position as he expected GOLDEN OAKS and MONFORTINO to cut the pace upfront and to do his best in the straight.
