Ms. Arti Doctor and Jockey Yash Narredu when questioned regarding the running and riding of MAIN STREET, the Trainer stated she had instructed the Jockey to sit last, gradually improve position and to do his best in the straight as last time when the filly was positioned well up with the field, she dropped out in the final stages of the race. Jockey Yash Narredu corroborated the Trainers instructions and further stated that he was sitting behind as instructed, travelling along the rails, was committed to the pace of the race, made his move from the 600 metres but unfortunately his mount did not quicken enough as expected by him. The Stipendiary Stewards not being satisfied with the explanations tendered by the Jockey decided to fine him a sum of Rs. 50,000/ for riding an ill judged race. |
