| | Tr, Manvendra Singh and Jockey Afzal Khan when questioned regarding the running and riding of b g TOPNOTCH, the Trainer stated that he had instructed the Jockey to position his mount in mid bunch considering that he was drawn towards the outside and to do his best in the straight. The Jockey while corroborating the Trainer’s instructions could not give any plausible explanation for his failure to ride out his mount to complete advantage till well into the straight. The Stipendiary Steward not being satisfied with the explanations tendered, decided to fine the Trainer and the Jockey a sum of Rs. 5,000/ each for the unsatisfactory running and riding of TOPNOTCH. Both the professionals were further advised to ensure that their charges/mounts are run and ridden in such manner that leaves no room for query. |
