Eastern Star upstages Punjabi Girl
04-Nov-2018: Trainer Bharath Singh’s prized youngster, Eastern Star (Y.S. Srinath-up), won the 1,400m Bahrain Cup, from the visiting South India filly, Punjabi Girl (A. Sandesh), on Sunday, the opening day of the cold weather season. It was a close finish between the two well-performed youngsters but the out-station invader attracted better support in the betting though the local Star went on to put his stamp of authority inside the final 100m of the race.

Exodus scores a belabored win
10-Nov-2018: Trainer Vikash Jaiswal’s Exodus (Pradeep Chauhan-up) scored a belaboured victory over Javed Khan’s horse, Gloaming (A. Sandesh), to lift the 1,200m Hilliard Cup, the star attraction in Saturday’s seven-event card. The racing, on the whole, was very tough during the afternoon and it hardly came as a surprise as the visiting jockeys dominated proceeding, albeit toiling hard in most cases. The one who, however, reaped the dividends was jockey Dashrath Singh; notching up a brace of winners for trainer Bharath Singh.

Adjudicate scores a thumping win in the 1000 Guineas
24-Nov-2018: Trainer James McKeown’s filly, Adjudicate (David Allan-up) humbled the opposition on her to winning the Calcutta 1000 Guineas, the star attraction in Saturday’s eight-event card. The Multidimensional filly won by six lengths, displaying vast improvement since her narrow defeat at the hands of Advika (Dashrath Singh) who, however, was at a considerable weight advantage on that occasion. The afternoon otherwise belonged to trainer Vikash Jaiswal who notched up a creditable treble.

Adjudicate storms home with 2000 Guineas
08-Dec-2018: Trainer James McKeown’s filly, Adjudicate (David Allan-up) changed the gear on the race track to beat the masculine power, lined up for the 1,600m Calcutta 2000 Guineas, on Saturday. It may be an under-statement to say that she beat them; in fact, she shamed them, to add the second, rather the more important of the two Calcutta Guineas in her kitty.

Multiglory thunders home with Burdwan Cup
21-Dec-2018: The change of stables transformed the fortune of the six-year-old horse, Multiglory, who thundered home by five lengths over the opposition to claim the 1,600m Maharajadhiraja Uday Chand Mahtab of Burdwan Memorial Cup, Friday’s feature event. Jockey Pradeep Chauhan partnered the Vikash Jaiswal-trained horse. The 7/1 shot’s victory in the feature event , had followed after two of their favourites had delivered the goods.

Cambridge wins `Gold Cup` with authority
22-Dec-2018: Cambridge, the western India challenger from Pesi Shroff’s stable, stamped his superior Class, on his way to winning the 1,600m D. Khaitan Memorial Calcutta Gold Cup, the feature event in Saturday’s card. Christopher Alford partnered the Burden of Proof son to victory over Bharath’s ward, Sana, ridden by Dashrath Singh.

The vast New Year’s Day’s crowd also witnessed trainer Vijay Singh’s youngster, Vallerysthal (A. Sandesh) winning the Prized event for babies, the 42 Indian Produce stakes, over 1,200 meters. Finishes were close in the nine-event card and verdicts invariable went the wrong way, to let the always complaining section of satchel-men, have a feast, for a change.

Avarua has it easy in feature

13-Jan-2019: James McKeown trained Adjudicate slammed the opposition in a sensational manner in the Gr 1 Calcutta Derby Stakes, the star event of the season at Kolkata on Sunday. The daughter of Multidimensional toyed with the opposition providing jockey David Allan another classic success in India. Adjudicate who thus won the three classics she participated in, will now head to Mumbai to participate in the Indian Derby.

Sandesh) proved way superior for the Lady trainer’s solidly wagered favourite, Atom (Neeraj).
