Raees has it easy in Byculla Cup Imtiaz Sait trained Raees had it easy in the 2800 metres Byculla Cup, a terms race for four-year-olds and over, the feature event of Friday’s evening races held at Mumbai. The day’s racing was dominated by the favourites. Trainer Shiraz Sunderji had a double, with one of his winners coming from the progeny of new resident stallion of Usha Stud Farm Speakingofwhich whose three-year-old son Makhtoob who made a winning debut.

Multitude has it easy on Vijay Singh’s day
Trainer Vijay Singh’s money-spinner, Multitude (A. Sandesh-up), scored another decisive victory, on Friday, while claiming the 1,200m Calcutta Champions’ Sprint Trophy. The victory of the 6/10 favourite, also ensured another fruitful treble for the trainer, who had scored a haul of four wins on the Derby Day. Incidentally, Sandesh was associated with all three Vijay’s wins during the afternoon. The day also witnessed trainer Shyam Habbu notching up a priced double.

Semper Fidelis pips Super Dart to win feature
Arjun Anne trained Semper Fidelis put up a strong challenge to favourite Super Dart and emerged the better close home to win the 1400 metres Lingapur Cup, a race for horses rated 58 to 78, the feature event of Wednesday’s Hyderabad races. Jockey Akshay Kumar who wins more than a single race, however, had to be satisfied with the solitary success achieved on Semper Fidelis.
