Racing Pulse Poll
Do you agree that Turf Authorities of India must step up their marketing game to attract a younger crowd. Right now, the sport is mostly backed by an ageing audience, which isn’t sustainable long-term?

Court Signals Green Light for Coexistence
Court Signals Green Light for Coexistence In a legal reprieve that could well become a blueprint for racing clubs across the country, the Madras Race Club (MRC) has secured temporary relief from closure of racing activities, with the Madras High Court suggesting that a racecourse and an eco-park need not be mutually exclusive. The court posed a pertinent question: Why can’t both co-exist? — a sentiment that echoes a growing belief that these historic spaces, occupying prime real estate, can serve dual purposes.
Wet, Wild, and Wonderfully Unpredictable
There’s a buzz in the air (and probably in the clouds) as the Pune racing season thunders out of the gates on Friday with a nine-event card. This isn’t a casual trot in the park but the launch of a leaner 20-day season. Gone are the glory days of over 30 fixtures. The rains and tricky underfoot conditions ensure good, often unpredictable racing, adding both charm and challenge to Pune’s unique appeal.
Derby Day: Even the Tote Got Generous
The Derby galloped off in style, and everyone seemed to be in a generous mood—including the club-operated tote pool, which managed to pay double the declared dividend for the last race. Payments were promptly halted when cash on hand couldn’t be reconciled with what had been given out. How much was overpaid remains unclear, as does the question of whether the loss will be borne by the outsourced operator or the club itself.
